Contrast Tipping Polo Shirts — Detail That Does the Branding Work

Tipping is the cheapest way to make a polo look designed rather than bought. A single contrasting stripe on the collar and cuffs gives a club, school or corporate polo a recognisable identity without adding a large printed logo. We knit collar and cuff with the tipping integrated, so it does not fray or peel like applied trim.

How we build tipping

  • Integrated knit tipping — the contrast yarn is knitted into the collar and cuff rib, not sewn on afterwards
  • Colour matching — contrast colour matched to your Pantone, or picked from our stock yarn set
  • Placement options — collar only, collar and cuffs, placket edge, or a contrast under-collar
  • Embroidery or print on top — your logo applied alongside the tipping on the same order
  • 7-day sampling, MOQ 50 pcs — labels, hang tags and bags custom, bulk 15-25 days

One design decision, a whole range

Because tipping lives in the collar and cuff, the same body colour can carry several identities: navy with white for one club, navy with gold for another. Buyers use this to launch a family of products off one fabric order, which keeps MOQs practical and colour consistent.

FAQ

Q: Is the tipping knitted in or sewn on?

A: It is knitted into the collar and cuff rib, so it will not peel, curl or fray. Applied trim is the common failure point and we do not use it.

Q: Can I choose any contrast colour?

A: Yes. Match your Pantone, or choose from our stock yarn range with no minimum on yarn.

Q: Can I combine tipping with embroidery?

A: Yes, both are done on the same order and approved together on the 7-day sample.

Q: Is there a minimum for a custom tipping yarn colour?

A: Custom tipping colours are dyed to your Pantone against the order; stock yarn colours have no yarn minimum, so small runs are practical.

Q: How does tipping hold up after industrial washing?

A: Because the contrast yarn is knitted into the rib rather than applied on top, it does not peel or fray. That is the reason we do not use applied trim.

Q: What is the MOQ and sampling time for a tipped polo?

A: 50 pcs per colour and design, 7-day sampling, 15-25 days bulk production after approval.

Q: Can you keep our club or company colours on file?

A: Yes. We archive the body colour, tipping colour and logo file, so next season's order matches this one.
